This project will make improvements at the intersection of Franconia Road (Route 644) and Rose Hill Drive.
The improvements include:
- A traffic signal flashing yellow arrow on westbound Franconia Road
- Signalized crosswalk on Franconia Road on the western side of the intersection
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian signal and curb ramp upgrades
At the intersection, Franconia Road averages 19,000 vehicles a day and Rose Hill Drive averages 11,000 based on 2019 data.
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering: $77,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation: $90,000
Construction: $308,000
Total: $475,000
This project is financed with federal and state Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.
Benefits
This project aims to improve safety for all modes, including drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.
