Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the I-66 interchanges at I-495, Route 50, and Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include: 

Monday, November 30, through Thursday, December 3
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville
The ramp will be closed Monday night, November 30, through Thursday night, December 3, between midnight and 4 a.m. for drainage installation. Traffic will continue farther east, take the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.

Monday, November 30, through Thursday, December 3
Ramp from 495 Express Lanes North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly Monday, November 30, through Thursday, December 3, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), stay to the left and make a left at the traffic signal, then follow signs to I-66 West.  

Wednesday, December 2, and Thursday, December 3
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East 
The ramp will be closed Wednesday night, December 2, and Thursday night, December 3, between midnight and 4 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to stay to the left and continue to the intersection at Waples Mill Road. At the traffic signal, drivers will use the left-most turn lane only to make a U-turn onto Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

Message boards on I-66 are providing advance notice of lane closures and traffic stoppages. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
