FREDERICKSBURG, Va.  All lanes on Route 17 are closed near Lendall Lane in Stafford County with a large downed tree and utility lines.

A crew with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is on scene assisting local law enforcement with the detour.

Route 17 northbound traffic is being detoured to Melchers Drive back to Route 17.

Route 17 southbound traffic is being diverted to Lendall Lane to Washington Street through the Belmont Hills neighborhood to access Route 1.

No re-opening time is available.

We are asking drivers to avoid the Route 17 area between Route 1 and the I-95 interchange. Please use Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to access I-95 northbound. I-95 southbound travelers should use Exit 130 (Route 3) in the City of Fredericksburg.
