This project is located on Route 758 (Seven Fountain Road) at Passage Creek in Shenandoah County. The project will replace the single-lane low-water bridge with a new structure. The new bridge will have two lanes and be built in the same location as the current structure, which was built in 1916. The new bridge will have a 22-foot clear width. The new bridge will be the same elevation as the current structure.
Preliminary engineering on this project began in early 2010. Right of way activities began in mid 2013. Construction is scheduled for summer 2015.
Traffic volume on Route 758 is 170 vehicles per day. This number is anticipated to increase to 225 vehicles per day by the year 2037.

Benefits of Project
This project will enhance the safety of Route 758 by replacing a deteriorating single-lane bridge structure with a new two-lane bridge.
Route 758 was closed at the bridge location during construction. A three-mile detour was established for motorists to use.
Bridge opened to traffic on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Watch for construction-related traffic as contractors finish work in areas surrounding the new bridge.
