The meeting introduced the Purpose and Need Statement (which sets the goals for the study) and the alignment options under consideration.

A citizen information meeting was held May 8, 2018, to introduce the Martinsville Southern Connector Study, gather public comments on transportation issues along the U.S. Route 220 corridor and solicit input on social, economic, and natural environmental resources that may need to be considered as part of the study.
