Route 625 (Greenwood Road) Bridge Replacement
|Replacing 77 year old bridge over the Chickahominy River|
Project at a Glance
Est Completion Date
The primary purpose of this project is to replace the aging Route 625 bridge over the Chickahominy River with a new structure on the existing alignment. The current bridge was built in 1937 and is substandard to handle future traffic volumes. High maintenance costs and weight restrictions make replacement necessary in order to provide a safer route for drivers.
Beginning Wednesday, February 8, Greenwood Road will be closed to through traffic between Old Washington Highway (Route 626) and Winns Church Road (Route 660) at the Henrico/Hanover County line.
Drivers should use the posted detour during construction:
Westbound Greenwood Rd./Rt. 625: Take Old Washington Hwy./Rt. 626 north to Cedar Ln./Rt. 623 west to Winns Church Rd./Rt. 660 south back to Greenwood Rd./Rt. 625.
Eastbound Greenwood Rd./Rt. 625: Take Winns Church Rd./Rt. 660 north to Cedar
Ln./Rt. 623 east to Old Washington Hwy./Rt. 626 south back to Greenwood Rd./Rt. 625.
