What's Being Done

The project will shift Route 33 to the east and add turn lanes. This will allow motorists on Route 33 to have through travel access to continue on Route 33 or enter Route 54. In addition, the intersection will be realigned to accommodate this new access. Once the new access is built, cul-de-sacs will be constructed on the existing Route 33 and Route 54 near the intersection. Also, turn lanes will be constructed to improve traffic flow through the intersection.

The first phase of the project through April 2013 will involve periodic lane closures that are expected to have minimal impact on drivers. In the final phase, which will continue through late November 2013, drivers can expect lane closures as needed to make lane realignments. In both phases, flaggers will be present to direct the flow of traffic.
