What's Being Done

The project will repair the Route 1 (Boydton Plank Road) bridge over CSX property just north of Keelers Mill Road (Route 657) in Dinwiddie County.

Traffic impacts

The northbound bridge will carry both directions of traffic during construction. Southbound traffic on Boydton Plank Road will be reduced to a single travel lane and shifted to the northbound bridge. Northbound traffic will be reduced to a single travel lane.

There will be an 11-foot width restriction in both directions during the traffic shift. The work zone speed limit is 45 mph, reduced from 55 mph.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the work zone and follow posted signage.

Public Involvement

A citizen information meeting was held on February 29, 2016 at Dinwiddie Elementary School. A fact sheet is available.
