The new ramp from I-95 north to Lewistown Rd. opened on Nov. 9, 2016. A temporary traffic signal has been added to the intersection with Lewistown Rd.
I-95 reduced speed limit in work zone
The speed limit on Interstate 95 has been reduced near the Lewistown Rd. interchange for the ongoing work zone. The speed limit has been reduced from 70 mph to 55 mph southbound and from 65 mph to 55 mph northbound.
The existing Lewistown Road bridge over I-95 is 14 feet, 7 inches high--below the standard height for bridges. The reconstructed bridge will be 16 feet, 5 inches high to meet current standards. In addition, the bridge will be widened to accommodate two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane. Turn lanes will be added to Lewistown Road at the I-95 intersection, truck stop and Airpark Road.
