I-64 will be widened from four lanes to six lanes eastbound from Route 623 to Pouncey Tract Road and westbound from Pouncey Tract Road to Route 622. The additional through lanes will be constructed to the inside of existing I-64 in both directions.

The I-64/Route 623 Interchange improvements will include upgrading the existing traffic signal, widening the westbound I-64 off ramp to Route 623 to provide an additional turn lane, widening the I-64 eastbound off ramp to Route 623 to provide an additional turn lane and adding a left turn lane on Route 623 south to I-64 east.
