Project Information

This project involves the replacement of the North Amelia Avenue bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad in the town of Blackstone. Improvements include replacing the deteriorated bridge deck, repairing the bridge superstructure and replacing the adjoining sidewalk.

The bridge structure was built in the mid 1960s as a replacement for the existing bridge structure. The bridge consists of three simple spans with a total length of more than 130 feet. The bridge is located between Church Street (Route 460) and Falls Street.

This project is being funded through a combination of federal and matching funds.

A public information meeting was held on April 3, 2013 at the Blackstone Fire Station. Handout from the public meeting.
