About the Study

This study is assessing potential safety and operational improvements along more than two miles of Shreve Road (Route 703) between Route 29 (Lee Highway) and Route 7 (Leesburg Pike).

The study is addressing community concerns related to speeding, pedestrian safety, sight distance and drainage.

The following priority areas along the corridor have been identified:

  • The curve west of Oldewood Drive
  • Shrevewood Elementary School
  • Washington & Old Dominion Trail crossings
  • The curve between Chestnut Street and Hickory Street

Shreve Road averages up to 10,000 vehicles a day within the study limits.
