About the Project

This project would replace the structurally deficient southbound Route 29 (Lee Highway) bridge over North Fork Broad Run in Prince William County (about one mile south of Route 55). The new bridge will also accommodate a sidewalk.

Construction Updates

The old superstructure was removed and replaced with new beams during the weekend closure, 10/25 – 10/28.  View project photos to include the old beams being removed and the new beams installed.

Contractor continues to work on sidewalk, curb & gutter, retaining wall, and storm drains with daily single lane closures on Route 29 Southbound.

The Contractor is on schedule to be complete by December 10, 2013.

Activities Planned for October 2013

Martins Construction has scheduled a weekend closure of Route 29 Southbound, starting at 10:00 p.m. October 25, 2013 through 4:00 a.m. October 28, 2013. 

The contractor is installing embankment, storm drain, sidewalk, curb and gutter. Installation of the cofferdam to start substructure repairs will be performed.
