About the project
This project eliminated the free-flow right-turn lane from westbound Williamson Boulevard to Sudley Road (Route 234) and realigned it to a 90-degree signal-controlled turn.
The improvements are expected to reduce crashes for westbound right turns, which were under yield control at Sudley Road. Vehicles had limited sight distance and difficulty safely merging with northbound thru traffic.
Approximately 67,000 vehicles per day use Williamson Boulevard at this location.
