About the Project
This project is replacing the concrete raised median on the Franconia-Springfield Parkway (Route 289) bridge over Accotink Creek with a concrete median barrier in order to improve safety.
The project is being financed with state and federal funding.
The bridge averages 45,000 vehicles a day.

At the start of construction, eastbound and westbound traffic was shifted to the right along the bridge to create the work zone in the center.
Drivers can expect daytime and nighttime lane closures during the following days and times:
- Monday through Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday night through Thursday night: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
