This project will upgrade the signalized intersection of Route 244 (Columbia Pike) and John Marr Drive.
The improvements include:
- Traffic signal and curb ramp upgrades.
- A new crosswalk across Route 244.
- Accessible pedestrian signals.
Preliminary Engineering - $100,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $100,000
Construction - $725,000
Total - $925,000
This project is financed with federal Highway Safety Improvement Program and state funds.
At the intersection, Route 244 averages 27,000 vehicles a day and John Marr Drive averages 10,000.
This project aims to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.
