This project will make improvements at the intersection of Burke Lake Road (Route 645) and Shiplett Boulevard.
The improvements include:
- Flashing yellow arrows for both directions of Burke Lake Road
- Four signalized crosswalks
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramp upgrades
At the intersection, Burke Lake Road averages 25,000 vehicles a day and Shiplett Boulevard averages 9,400.
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering: $89,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation: $125,000
Construction: $500,000
Total: $714,000
This project is financed with federal and state Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.
Benefits
This project aims to improve driver and pedestrian safety as well as operations at the intersection.
