The purpose of this Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)-funded project is to improve safety on US Route 29 northbound lane and southbound lane in the Gretna area of Pittsylvania County. 

The project will widen the paved shoulders and install shoulder rumble strips at various locations between the intersection with Route 922 (Andrew Road) and the southern intersection with Route 665 (Rockford School Road).  

It is anticipated that bids will be received in September 2014 and that construction will take place during the April-December 2015 timeframe.
