Project Purpose and Description
The purpose of this project was to replace the structurally deficient bridge on Route 130 over Pedlar River in Amherst County.
The current bridge had a sufficiency rating of 48.2.
Under this project, Route 130 remained on the same horizontal and vertical alignment that previously existed with approaches constructed as needed. Additionally, the existing intersection with Route 635 (Buffalo Springs Turnpike) was demolished and the remaining portion of Route 635 realigned to tie into Route 130 west of the Route 130 bridge.
During construction, the existing bridge was closed and an onsite detour route in place.
