Project Description and Traffic Impacts
This project will replace the bridge deck on the Route 128 West, Candlers Mountain Road bridge over Norfolk-Southern Railroad in the City of Lynchburg. The project limits are from 0.27 miles west of Route 460 to 0.32 miles west of Route 460.
The work will be conducted in two stages with one travel lane westbound available at all times within the work zone.
There will be no left turn into the River Ridge Mall. Mall traffic will pass the current entrance and exit to the right at Murray Place, just past Wells Fargo Bank. Traffic will circle the bank and enter the Mall at the traffic signal.
Through traffic on Route 128 West should expect delays during construction. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Effective January 14, 2013, the Stage Two Traffic Pattern was in place.
