Sussex Drive (Route 301)
Find out about the proposed replacement of the bridge carrying the southbound lanes of Sussex Drive (Route 301) over the CSX railroad tracks approximately 3 miles north of the Emporia city limits. The limits of the project are from 0.3 miles north of the railroad tracks (near Blanks Lane) to 0.3 miles south of the railroad tracks (near Country Club Road) for a total project length of approximately 0.6 miles.

If your concerns cannot be satisfied, VDOT is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Mr. Adam Jack, P.E. District Preliminary Engineer, Virginia Department of Transportation, 1700 N. Main Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 on or prior to October 29, 2012. If a request for a public hearing is received, notice of date, time and place of the hearing will be posted.
In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800, information concerning the potential effects of the proposed project on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places is provided in the environmental documentation.
