About the Project
Construction of a four-lane divided highway is proposed to realign the existing Route 60 in James City County and Newport News. The project will begin in Newport News along Route 60 at the Fort Eustis Boulevard interchange (Route 60/Route 105) and extend through a preserved corridor in Oakland Industrial Park. As the project crosses Skiffes Creek into James City County, the proposed highway will go through the Green Mount Industrial Park and then reconnect to Blow Flats Road in James City County.
VDOT is currently administering this project with James City County and the city of Newport News as partners. Funding is presently available for preliminary engineering only.
This project is in the scoping phase.
NOTE: This project is linked to the Skiffes Creek Bridge project.
