Project Details

Crews will rehabilitate the I-664 concrete pavement for the northbound and southbound lanes from 0.5 miles north of Route 58 to the south side of the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel.  Work includes concrete patching, joint sealing, shoulder restoration, underdrains, and a Thin Hot Mix Asphalt
Concrete Overlay (THMACO).  Motorists can expect to experience single lane, overnight closures during construction activities.

Project Updates

Work was halted over the winter months and the contractor is preparing to begin work again the week of April 8.  Work remaining includes installation of pavement markings and markers, milling and paving of ramp shoulders, concrete repair work, and asphalt shoulder repair work. Prospective final acceptance stands at the end of May. Work was delayed because the quantity of repair in the contract was significantly increased due to the amount of patching that needed to be completed. Crews did almost five times the amount of work than what was estimated in the original contract .
