Purpose and Need
The project purpose is to increase intersection capacity, reduce delay and provide a better level of service at the intersection of Route 620 (Harrison Road) and Route 1 in Spotsylvania County.
The proposed project will add through lanes and turn lanes along Route1 and Route 620, and extend the existing turn lanes.
The current traffic count on Harrison Road east of Route 1 is 6,114 vehicles per day. West of Route 1, there are 14,233 vehicles per day. There are 43,000 vehicles per day along Route 1.

Public Hearing Set for Thursday, March 14, 2013
A public hearing for this improvement project will be held at the Harrison Road Community Center, 4728 Harrison Road, Spotsylvania County. The hearing will be held from 5-8 p.m. There will be no formal presentation, and the public is invited to stop by anytime between 5-8 p.m. to review proposed plans and make a comment.
