Route 17 Business/Route 14/Route 3 Intersection Improvements
Project at a Glance
This project will improve traffic operations and pedestian use of the intersection of Route 17 Business (Main Street) and Route 3/Route 14 (John Clayton Memorial Highway) in Gloucester County
The project will build dual left turn lanes and dual right turn lanes for Main Street traffic turning onto John Clayton Memorial Highway.
On John Clayton Memorial Highway, the traffic pattern would be changed at the intersection to allow for dual left turns onto southbound Main Street. One of the left turn lanes would be a shared lane, and would allow traffic to turn left, proceed straight across, or turn right.
Improvements would also be made for pedestrian traffic at the intersection. The project would build sidewalks with handicapped-accessible ramps and would install crosswalks and pedestrian signal equipment.
This Smart Scale project is fully funded through construction.
