VDOT completed construction of this project on July 24, 2015, finishing about a week ahead of schedule.

The two-lane hybrid roundabout improves safety at and increases the efficiency of traffic through the intersection of Route 15/29 and Route 229 in the town of Culpeper. The project also involved Approximately 28,000 vehicles use this intersection daily.

The improvements also included a sidewalk built on the west side of Route 15/29 and a shared-use paths on the east side of Route 229 and the north side of Route 15/29. Route 229 was widened to four lanes from the roundabout north to Fairview Avenue.
