Willingness To Hold A Public Hearing

As part of the public involvement process, VDOT has posted a willingness to hold a public hearing for this Park and Ride expansion project. 

The public is encouraged to review the advertisement posted on VDOT's website and in the Culpeper-Star Exponent (Nov. 7 and Nov. 15 issues). 

Project information and environmental documentation is available for review at VDOT's Culpeper District Office at 1601 Orange Road in Culpeper, 540-829-7500 or at VDOT's Warrenton Residency at 457 E. Shirley Avenue, 540-347-6441. Please call ahead to ensure availability of appropriate personnel to answer your questions. 

If a request for a public hearing is received on or prior to Nov. 22, notice of date, time and place of the hearing will be advertised. 

Project Details

Design work has begun on this $900,000 project to expand the existing Park and Ride lot at Route 29 and Route 663 (Alanthus Road) to 95 spaces. Improvements include paving, signs and lighting, as well as corrective action to address existing safety and drainage issues.  

This SMART SCALE project is fully funded through construction.

Construction is estimated to begin in 2020, but the schedule may change as the project is developed.
