What's Being Done

Right of way acquisition is currently underway for Phases II and III of the Moccasin Gap Bypass in Scott County.  The cost for right of way is approximately $7.3 million.  Roadway grading work for Phases II and III is scheduled to begin in fall 2010.   

Phase II
- includes all of the gradework for the Moccasin Gap Bypass.

- Estimate for gradework: $26 million.

- The project will be advertised in July 2010.

- Gradework should begin in fall 2010.

Phase III
- includes the bridges and the pavement for the entire project.

- Currently, Phase III funds have not been identified in the Six-Year Improvement Plan.
