What's been accomplished
Construction of Phase I of the Moccasin Gap Bypass was completed in early July 2008. The project, which connects Routes 58, 23 and 224, was completed on-time and within budget.On May 17, 2006, a $6.6 million contract to construct the first phase of the Moccasin Gap Bypass in Scott County was awarded to Elk Knob, Inc., Pennington Gap.
Right of way acquisition is currently underway for Phases II and III of the Moccasin Gap Bypass. Roadway grading work for Phases II and III is scheduled to begin in fall 2010.
