What's Happening Now?
Replacement of the Interstate 81 bridges over Halls Bottom Road near Exit 10 in Washington County is underway. Motorists should be alert to an altered traffic pattern.
Due to safety concerns, Route 808 (Halls Bottom Road) is closed underneath the interstate bridges. Only emergency-response vehicles will have access; all other vehicle traffic will be required to detour.
VDOT is coordinating activities between the Halls Bottom work zone near Exit 10, the bridge reconstruction project at Exit 10, and the Exit 14 work zone to ensure safety for motorists.
In Summer 2016, Orders Construction Company, St. Albans, W.Va., was awarded the contract to design and construct the I-81 bridges over Route 808 (Halls Bottom Road) in Washington County, located near exit 10. The project is valued at $11.3 million.
