PART OF ROUTE 638 IN CLARKE COUNTY CLOSED MAY 30 FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT
STAUNTON – A portion of Route 638 (Howellsville Road) in Clarke County is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, May 30, for a pipe replacement. The work zone is 3.1 miles south of Route 50 (John Mosby Highway) in the Shenandoah Farms area. The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. through 8 p.m. All work is weather permitting.
Through traffic will be directed on the following detour, which includes routes in Clarke and Warren counties:
- Southbound traffic will go west on Route 50, south on Route 624 (Redgate Road/Milldale Road/Morgan Ford Road), and then northeast on Howellsville Road (Route 643/603/638) to the end of the detour.
- Northbound traffic will go south on Howellsville Road (Route 638/603/643), north on Route 624 (Morgan Ford Road/Milldale Road/Redgate Road), and then east on Route 50 to the end of the detour.
