I-81 NORTHBOUND RAMPS AT EXIT 317 CLOSED TONIGHT IN FREDERICK COUNTY
Overnight Lane Closures on Route 11 June 26-30

STAUNTON – Overnight closures of the on- and off-ramps at northbound Interstate 81 exit 317 (Winchester/Stephenson) in Frederick County are scheduled from 10 p.m. tonight (June 26) through 5 a.m. Wednesday. In addition, overnight lane closures are scheduled on Route 11 (Martinsburg Pike) from June 26 – June 30. Both of these traffic restrictions are for paving operations. All work is weather permitting.

During the ramp closures, the following detours will be in place:

  • Northbound I-81 drivers needing to access Route 11 in the Stephenson area will use exit 321 and follow Route 11 south to the end of the detour.
  • Route 11 drivers needing to access northbound I-81 will continue north on Route 11 to the Clearbrook area and join the interstate at exit 321.

The southbound I-81 ramps will not be affected by this work.

Northbound Route 11 paving takes place from the northern city limits of Winchester to two miles north. The work is primarily scheduled Monday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists can expect flagger-controlled lane closures during these operations. Work may occur Friday nights from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. and Sunday nights from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. as needed due to weather delays during the week.
