STAUNTON – (8:15 a.m.) Both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 are closed in Rockingham County due to an overturned tractor trailer at mile marker 253. The incident was reported about 7 a.m. Thursday, and northbound I-81 is expected to remain closed for at least two hours. The northbound on-ramp at exit 251 (Harrisonburg) is also closed.

Drivers heading north on I-81 are being diverted off the interstate at exit 251. They will follow Route 11 north and rejoin I-81 at exit 257 (Mauzy/Broadway/Timberville).
