TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR RURAL RUSTIC ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON ROUTE 781 IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY
STAUNTON – Motorists using Route 781 (Rucker Gap Road) may experience lengthy delays due to Rural Rustic Road construction from Wednesday, July 5, through Tuesday, August 4. Flaggers will control traffic weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between the intersection with Route 661 (Johnson Creek Road) and the West Virginia state line.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is making Rural Rustic Road improvements along a 1.9-mile stretch of Route 781. The work includes widening within the existing right of way, drainage improvements and surface treatment paving.
All work is weather permitting.
