STAUNTON – (1:00 p.m.) Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 are closed in the Greenville area of Augusta County due to a tractor trailer fire at mile marker 212. The fire was reported about noon Friday afternoon, and there is no estimate for reopening the southbound lanes. Traffic is currently backed up about three miles.

I-81 southbound traffic is being detoured onto Route 11 at exit 213A (Greenville). Drivers will follow Route 11 south for about eight miles, and then Route 606 (Raphine Road) west for about 1.5 miles to return to I-81 at exit 205.
