STAUNTON – (5:15 p.m.) The northbound and southbound Interstate 81 ramps to Route 50 East (Millwood Pike) at exit 313 have been closed. This is in the Winchester area of Frederick County. A vehicle strike has damaged traffic-signal equipment at the nearby intersection of Route 50 and Route 522 (Front Royal Pike), and repairs are expected to take several hours.

Law enforcement is assisting with traffic control, but the off-ramps at I-81 exit 313 are closed to minimize traffic on Route 50 and prevent vehicles from backing up onto the interstate. The southbound I-81 off-ramp to Route 50 West remains open. Motorists should expect congestion on Route 50 and Route 522.
