ALL I-81 NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND LANES CLOSED IN FREDERICK COUNTY
STAUNTON – (5:15 p.m.) Northbound and southbound Interstate 81 are closed in Frederick County due to a tractor trailer crash near mile marker 319 just north of Winchester. The incident took place about 4:15 p.m. today (Thursday, September 7). There is no estimate for reopening lanes on the interstate.
Incident responders are setting up detours for drivers using northbound and southbound I-81.
Traffic is backed up several miles in each direction. Motorists should use extreme caution, follow signs and variable message boards, and expect delays on this portion of the interstate.
