WATER MAIN BREAK CLOSES ROUTE 11 IN FREDERICK COUNTY

STAUNTONA portion of Route 11 (Main Street) at Middletown in Frederick County is closed due to a water main break. The road will remain closed until repairs are complete, which is anticipated to be sometime Thursday evening.

 

Two separate detour routes have been established. Passenger vehicles using Route 11 will detour onto Second Street, Church Street and Fourth Street in Middletown. Tractor trailers and large trucks will be diverted onto Interstate 81 using Exit 296 (Strasburg) and Exit 302 (Middletown). Variable message boards will help guide motorists on these detours.

 

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
