ROUTE 781 IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY CLOSING OCTOBER 26 FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT

STAUNTON – A portion of Route 781 (Ruckers Gap Road) in Alleghany County is scheduled to close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26. 

The work zone, which extends from the intersection of Route 661 to the West Virginia State Line, will be closed to through traffic for a pipe replacement.   

During the closure motorists should use Route 661 south to I-64 west to West Virginia.  

All work is weather permitting.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
