PART OF ROUTE 641 IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY WILL CLOSE FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AUGUST 8

STAUNTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 641 (Cave Hill Road) between Route 991 (Jacob Burner Road) and Route 843 (Cemetery Road) beginning August 8 in Rockingham County. The work is expected to take about two months.

A temporary bridge will serve as the 24/7 detour with a stop-and-proceed work zone in place to safely move traffic around the construction site.

Preliminary work on the site will begin August 3. Construction of the temporary bridge will begin August 8. The replacement work will begin August 15. Estimated completion of the project is mid-October.

All work is weather permitting.
