TRUCK DETOUR MARCH 23-27 DURING REPAIRS ON ROUTE 250 IN HIGHLAND COUNTY

STAUNTON – Route 250 (Mountain Turnpike) in western Highland County will be closed to commercial truck traffic March 23-27, 2015 during repairs to a rock retaining wall. Flaggers will control passenger vehicles through the work zone, which is about 1.2 miles east of the intersection with Route 637 (Maple Sugar Road).

 

Beginning the morning of Monday, March 23, trucks traveling on Route 250 will use a detour that adds approximately 27 miles to their route. The detours are as follows:

  • Eastbound traffic will follow West Virginia Route 92 south; Route 84 east into Highland County, Virginia; and then Route 220 north back to Route 250.
  • Westbound traffic will follow Route 220 south; Route 84 west into West Virginia; and then Route 92 north back to Route 250.

 

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
