ROUTE 704 IN FREDERICK COUNTY CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT JULY 13 – 31

STAUNTON – Part of Route 704 (Back Creek Road) in western Frederick County is scheduled to close for about three weeks beginning Monday, July 13, while Virginia Department of Transportation crews replace a bridge. This closure is between Route 617 (Pinetop Road) and the West Virginia state line.

 

Traffic using Route 704 will be directed one of the following posted detours:

  • Southbound drivers will turn west on Route 617, which becomes White Pine Ridge Road in West Virginia. Drivers will then turn south on Back Creek Road and north on Gore Road, which continues into Virginia and becomes Route 704.
  • Northbound drivers will travel south on Route 704, which becomes Gore Road in West Virginia. Drivers will then turn north on Back Creek Road and east on White Pine Ridge Road, which continues into Virginia and returns to Route 704.

 

Route 704 is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 31. All work is weather permitting.
