ROUTE 637 NEAR STRASBURG CLOSED NOVEMBER 12-15 FOR RAILROAD CROSSING WORK
STAUNTON – Part of Route 637 (Powhatan Road) near the town of Strasburg in Shenandoah County will be closed November 12 – 15, 2015, while contractors replace a railroad crossing. The road is scheduled to close at 8 a.m. Thursday, November 12, and reopen at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. All work is weather permitting.
Signs will direct Route 637 drivers on one of the following detours:
- Southbound traffic will travel east on Route 55 (John Marshall Highway), south on Route 11 (Massanutten Avenue), west on King Street, north on Franklin Street, and then west on Junction Road to the end of the detour.
- Northbound traffic will travel east on Junction Road, south on Franklin Street, east on King Street, north on Route 11 (Massanutten Avenue) and then west on Route 55 (John Marshall Highway) to the end of the detour.
