PORTION OF ROUTE 847 IN AUGUSTA COUNTY CLOSED JUNE 8 – 24 DURING PIPE REPLACEMENT
Road Open Nights and Weekends

STAUNTONA portion of Route 847 (Valley Church Road) in Augusta County will be closed from 8 a.m. June 8 through 5 p.m. June 24 for pipe replacement over wet weather stream. The work zone is 0.2 mile west of Route 771 (Airport Road) to 0.3 mile east of Route 773 (Virginia Mills Road) in the Weyers Cave area. 

 

This closure will only be in effect during weekdays while the work zone is active. Detours are in place: 

 

  • Drivers approaching from the east will go east on Route 847 (Valley Church Road), then north onto Route 771 (Airport Road), and then west onto Route 256 (Weyers Cave Road), and then south onto Route 773 (Virginia Mills Road), then back onto Route 847 (Valley Church Road). 

  • Drivers approaching from the west will go west on 847 (Valley Church Road) and then north on Route773 (Virginia Mills Road), then east onto Route 256 (Weyers Cave Road), then south onto Route 771 (Airport Road), then west back onto Route 847.

 

All work is weather permitting.
