PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE IN SHENANDOAH COUNTY CLOSED
STAUNTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation has taken the precautionary step of closing the pedestrian bridge along Route 609 (South Hollingsworth Road) just east of Woodstock in Shenandoah County. The cable-suspension footbridge was shut down this morning (July 31, 2015) due to an earth slide next to one of the abutments.
The bridge will remain closed while VDOT inspectors evaluate the bridge and determine whether it has sustained any structural damage.
