PART OF FURRS MILL ROAD CLOSED OCTOBER 27 FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY

STAUNTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled a 9 a.m. October 27 road closure in Rockbridge County for a pipe replacement on Route 631 (Furrs Mill Road). The work location is near Lexington city limits, between Route 11 (North Lee Highway) and Route 681 (Greenhouse Road).  Work should be complete by 3 p.m. that afternoon. The rain date for the project is October 28. All work is weather permitting.

 

Electronic message boards will be up in advance to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure.


Traffic should use these posted detours:
 

  • From Route 11 (North Lee Highway) turn onto Route 752 (Hunter Hill Road) and left onto Route 681 (Greenhouse Road), then back onto Route 631 (Furrs Mill Road). 

 

  • From 631 (Furrs Mill Road) turn onto Route 681 (Greenhouse Road), the right on Route 752 (Hunter Hill Road), then back onto Route 11.
