Traffic Detoured Onto Route 37

STAUNTON – (1:50 p.m.) Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 are closed in Frederick County due to a crash near mile marker 314. The accident took place about 12:40 p.m., and southbound I-81 is expected to remain closed for at least another hour. Traffic is currently backed up about eight miles.


A detour has been established for southbound I-81 traffic. Drivers will be directed off the interstate at exit 317, where they will follow Route 37 south and rejoin I-81 at exit 310.
