CLEANUP WORK MAY AFFECT NORTHBOUND I-81 TRAFFIC IN FREDERICK COUNTY JULY 28-29

STAUNTON – Overnight left lane closures are scheduled for Interstate 81 northbound near the West Virginia state line on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, July 28-29, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. These closures will allow crews to clean up a fuel spill in the median along the West Virginia portion of I-81.

During these overnight lane closures, congestion is possible in Frederick County just north of the city of Winchester. All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

Traffic alerts and traveler information can be obtained by dialing 511. Traffic alerts and traveler information also are available at 511Virginia.org. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
