CLEAN UP WORK IMPACTING I-81 NORTHBOUND IN FREDERICK COUNTY IS CANCELED FOR THIS WEEK

STAUNTON – Interstate 81 northbound closures in West Virginia scheduled for the nights of July 20-22 are canceled and will be rescheduled at a future date.  This closure is to let crews to clean up a fuel spill in the median along the West Virginia portion of I-81.  The closures have the possibility of impacting I-81 northbound traffic in Virginia, north of Winchester.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties. 

Traffic alerts and traveler information can be obtained by dialing 511. Traffic alerts and traveler information also are available at 511Virginia.org. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
