STAUNTON – (12:45 p.m.) Both southbound lanes are closed on Interstate 81 at mile marker 272 in the Mount Jackson area of Shenandoah County. A tractor trailer crash occurred shortly before noon today in this location.  Operators at the Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center indicate the closure will remain for at least two to three hours.

Traffic is being detoured off of I-81 at exit 273 at Route 703 and Route 292.  Traffic will proceed southbound on Route 11 to Route 730 where traffic will rejoin I-81 at exit 269.
